This site is at the Habessa village in Buttala District Secretariat Division of the Moneragala District of the Uva Province.
The ruined site could be reach by traversing 10 miles towards Okkampitiya. Along the turnoff to the right at the Kumbukkana Junction on Buttala-Moneragala road.
Of the many ruins found at this site, the image house with a 32 foot Buddha image made of brickwork takes a prominent place. This temple was beleive to be the ancient “Naka Maha Vihara” mention in the chronicle Mahavamsa.
