Beauty of a breath taking Beach named “Nilaveli”

Nilaveli, as the name denotes both in Sinhala and in Tamil is a brilliant coastline and is situated in the Trincomalee District in the east of Sri Lanka.

Nilaveli is 264.8 KM away from Colombo and is reachable by train, plane car or taxi.it is about 14 kilometers away from the town of Trincomalee.

Although the climate is warm, a dip in the blue ocean bordering the Nilaveli beach readily compensates for it.Hence, it has become one of the most attractive beaches in Sri Lanka.

Pigeon Island National Park, one of the two marine national parks of the region is situated 1 km off the coast of Nilaveli, its many species of vegetation, coral and reef fish contributing to Nilaveli’s rich biodiversity.

Among places of visit near Nilaveli are Thiru Koneswaram Temple, Trincomalee Fort, an ancient harbor and a cement factory.
